Computer Science 2nd Place Team
North Crowley's team of Lexi Cepak, Joshua Clark, David Correa, Sara Wild and Michal Wozniczka took 2nd place at Texas A&M's computer science contest held Saturday during the Workshops on the Impact of Pen and Touch Technology in Education 2014. The students had 5 hours to design a game to the following prompt:
Choose a topic commonly taught in elementary, middle or high schools and design a "gamified" tablet application. You should design your application such that it adequately teaches your chosen topic, makes explicit use of tablet touch and gesture functionality, and strategically attracts users for long term use (over many months) and then give a 7-minute presentation explaining how their game met the criteria.Their game Parent Function Panda Rescue would have kids "accidentally" learn algebraic functions while playing a fun game involving all sorts of animals.
